About Gabby
Gabby Douglas was born on December 31, 1995. She was born in Virgina Beach. She is apart of the Fab Five. Which is a nickname for the 2012 summer Olympic gymnastics team.
Early Life
Gabby started gymnastics when she was six years old. She started in Virgina Beach and her coach's name was Dena Walker. In 2004 when she was only eight years old she won level 4 all-around title at Virginia State Championships.
Junior Career
In 2010 Gabby made her first elite competition debut. It was in Chicago, Illinois. In that meet she placed third on the balanced beam, sixth on vault, and ninth in the all around. Again in 2010 she went to a competition called the U.S Junior National Championships she got silver on balance beam fourth on both all around and vault. She also tied for eighth on floor. Also in 2010 she went to Pan American Championships in Mexico. She won on uneven bars she also got fifth in all around. Also she got a team gold medal.When Gabby was only fourteen years old she moved from Virgina Beach and went to West Des Moines, Iowa. She would be training with Shawn Johnson.
2012 Olympics
In the 2012 summer Olympics her team got gold.She also won the all around. She got eighth in uneven bars and seventh on balance beam.
